E424 333 Lamezia Terme Centrale

Now almost entirely withdrawn from ordinary services, the E424s were stabled in the yards of Lamezia Terme, Paola and Reggio Calabria Centrale in 2006. The unit in question, E424 333, was coupled to some DDm car carriers in the Lamezia yard. The DDm wagons had also recently been withdrawn from car-carrying services from Lamezia Terme. A D143 can also be seen behind the wagons, and the freight train standing there was not waiting to be overtaken, but was bound for the Lamezia yard itself. In short, a nostalgic shot!
