From the gallery

The regional service between Kufstein and Munich is operated by BRB, using lightweight Stadler units in single and double formation. Here we see a train that has just left Kufstein, running along the stretch of line beside the River Inn, which at this point forms the border between Austria and Germany.

Shortly after the end of the exhibition, the Treno Verde 2017 standing at Catania Centrale

Fourth-generation ICE set, train 9023, passing through Lehrberg.

On the flat Catania plain, E464 373 passes at line speed with the Intercity Notte from Milano Centrale, near the level crossing at Passomartino.

The 'Russian', as the MoscowNice express is nicknamed among train enthusiasts, photographed here almost in Ligurian territory at Tortona, unfortunately with a cloud that spoiled the shot. Hauling the train on this section is E402 123, still in XMPR livery.

Drone shot of one of the afternoon short workings, at sunset.

Regional train from Melito di Porto Salvo to Cosenza with E464 069 at the rear, pushing, and a formation of UIC-X coaches, typical of these parts, passing over the Angitola viaduct near Pizzo.

The hope of a different traction at the front led us to plan the shot of Intercity 721 at the only spot in the area with good light on the front. Unfortunately, the symmetrical E464 double-heading ruined the efforts... leading unit 218, rear unit 376.

Ed ecco la sorpresa domenicale, non prevista: la E483 040 in discesa verso Brindisi con un convoglio di containers, probabilmente di prodotti chimici. Davvero una livrea gradevole per queste unità di Ferrotramviaria.

One of the first freight trains of RTC, coming from the north and bound for Nola Interporto.

The lunchtime freight from Messina Centrale to Bicocca, hauled by E652 171, shortly before Al Terme.

The third light engine in a row becomes a nuisance, especially if, in the meantime, no ascending freight has been sent from Koper... a rather peculiar traffic management in that time slot on the Koper line. But the wait will be rewarded....

Colourful consist for the heritage train from Palermo Centrale to Agrigento Centrale, with E646 028 at the head and D445 1006 at the rear providing reversibility. We are on a winding stretch of line just before Comitini station.

Intercity 722 from Syracuse to Roma Termini, hauled by E656 034, photographed at Passomartino (CT).

Micotra service from Villach to Trieste Centrale, passing Reana del Rojale, hauled by E190 302 of Ferrovia Udine Cividale.

Freight from Messina Centrale to Bicocca passing Giarre-Riposto at full line speed.

The ADe14 passes the charming Cutula halt, working train 8 from Riposto to Randazzo, on 13 April 2020

Between Wrzburg and Ansbach, 193 764 of FRACHTbahn Traktion, named Sofie, passing with a tank wagon train.

Morning Intercity from Taranto to Reggio Calabria Centrale hauled by D445 1052, passing shortly after the Sibari stop.

At the level crossing at Palena, with only the train in the sunlight and the rest covered in shadow.

Seen from the Scontrone cemetery, the triple set of railcars is nearly in the final stretch towards Castel di Sangro.

Regiojet service from Prague to Budapest passing just after Parndorf, hauled by 386 204.

Minuetto Diesel 024 in its original colours, passing Labico with a regional train from Rome Termini to Campobasso.

Minuetto Elettrico 037 entering Agrigento Centrale, with a regional service from Catania Centrale.
