4 October 2006: Lower Calabria
A typical photo day in Calabria many years ago: departure from Syracuse at 4:50, hydrofoil from Messina Marittima to Reggio Calabria Marittima, then Monasterace, Catanzaro Lido, Catanzaro Sala, Lamezia Terme Centrale, Bagnara and Favazzina. Plenty of interesting rolling stock encountered (D445, E424, UIC-X passenger coaches with the regionals), from a time when Calabria was at the height of its railway splendour.
