E636 005 passing through Scilla (RC).
This is the first photo of trains for which I organised "a raid", a proper trip with the aim of photographing trains.
The departure from Syracuse that day was at 4.50 in the morning. 200 km of regional trains, and from southern Sicily, after the ferry crossing, I landed in Calabria. For it, the E636 005, which was returning after having taken an ALn668 for overhaul from Sicily to Foggia. I remember very well the very long and exhausting wait at Scilla (enlivened by the notable and varied passings that still took place back then)... I waited there for the Sicilian 005 from 9 in the morning until 15.40. At that time (2004) there was no IT help: you went and you waited.
Photographed on 01/01/2002 at Scilla (Province of Reggio Calabria, Region of Calabria, Italy).
