7 July 2022: Zillertal and lines west of Innsbruck

The third day of the Tyrol 2022 tour, due to unfavourable weather, is devoted to exploring lines around Innsbruck. We start with the Zillertalbahn, a 32 km narrow-gauge line from Jenbach to Mayrhofen, where, besides the regular service, freight trains and a historic steam train run daily. Then, from Innsbruck on the magnificent mountain line towards Garmisch, operating only as far as Mittenwald due to works on the German side, and finally a first exploration of the flat section of the Achensee-related... ferrovia dell'Aalberg line, with a locomotive in historic livery working a freight train, and much more.
